This year, Airgas drivers like Tom Robinson in Stratford, CT, will log nearly 60 million miles on the front lines of our distribution network. Ours is a distribution business, with gases, welding and safety supplies as our major products. By focusing on distribution, we help customers by delivering the right products to the right location at the right time. Our 2,500 drivers comprise the front-line of our national distribution force. Each morning, Airgas route drivers deliver cylinders and hardgoods to local customers throughout the U.S. while other drivers shuttle gases to our 800 stocking locations. Still other drivers make bulk and MicroBulk deliveries to customers’ sites. Supporting our drivers are associates throughout an integrated distribution network of branches and retail stores, cylinder fill plants, production facilities, specialty gas laboratories, and five regional distribution centers that ship hardgoods and safety products to Airgas branches and end-customers. This common infrastructure supports the distribution of products and services through multiple sales channels, including our branches and retail stores, Strategic Accounts programs, distributors and resellers, as well as eBusiness, catalog and telesales channels.
