David E. Levin Named Vice President - Hardgoods at Airgas

RADNOR, PA - February 3, 2005 -- Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG) has announced the appointment of David E. Levin as vice president - hardgoods, with responsibility for product management of all welding/MRO hardgoods and safety products. Levin had been vice president - safety products since April 2003.

"During more than 13 years with Airgas and its predecessor companies, David has garnered valuable hardgoods experience," said Michael L. Molinini, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Airgas. "In addition to his most recent role, he has also served as president of both Airgas Rutland Tool and Airgas Safety."

Levin will manage a combined product management team that oversees supplier relationships and sales and marketing plans to support sales of hardgoods and safety products throughout all Airgas regional companies and distribution channels, including telesales and catalog channels. In his new role, Levin also will oversee the eBusiness Marketing efforts.

Levin joined Airgas in March 1996 with the acquisition of IPCO Safety (now part of Airgas Safety). During his tenure, he has served as director of operations and chief financial officer at Airgas Safety from March 1996 to March 1997; president and chief operating officer, Airgas Safety from March 1997 to March 2002; and president and chief operating officer at Airgas Rutland Tool from March 2002 to May 2003.

Prior to joining Airgas, Levin joined IPCO Safety in March 1992 as controller. He was named chief financial officer in March 1995 and became director of operations and chief financial officer in October 1996 after the acquisition by Airgas. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in accounting at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in May 1985 and was a Certified Public Accountant from July 1985 through March 1992.
