Airgas Added to S&P 500 Index
RADNOR, PA – September 8, 2009 -- Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG) today announced it has been added to the S&P 500 after the close of trading. Airgas is the largest U.S. distributor of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, and welding, safety, and related products.

Airgas was started by McCausland in 1982, generating $3 million of revenue in its first year. The company has specifically been added to the S&P 500 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Industrial Gases Sub-Industry Index.
