- Stoody® 104 Automatic Hardfacing Submerged Arc Welding Wire has 7/64" Dia and 1 - 11/2" extension and comes in a 60 lb coil. Wire produces deposit that is machinable with high speed tools as well as carbide tools. Wire deposit can be flame cut and has excellent resistance to impact and plastic deformation. Wire deposit has unlimited deposit thickness and hardness of 29 Rockwell C. It is recommended to be used with Stoody® S flux and suitable for build-up along with under base to support hard-facing. Wire is composed of iron base and 6% alloys that include manganese, silicon, chromium as well as carbon. It is ideal for build-up prior to hard-facing of tractor rollers, idlers, trunnions, rolls and cable drums. Wire is used as final overlay on rail links and shaft rebuilding on areas like journals, packing glands, splines as well as threads.
