What is Hydrogen?

Hydrogen (H₂) is a highly combustible gas produced by separating it from water and fossil fuels. We offer hydrogen in a variety of supply modes for several applications.

Industrial Applications

Manufacturing & Metal Fabrication
Often mixed with argon, hydrogen is used for welding and cutting stainless steel.

Chemical

In refineries, hydrogen is used to process crude oil into refined oils, such as gasoline and diesel, and to remove contaminants. Hydrogen is also essential in chemical processing such as creating sulfuric and hydrochloric acids.

Automotive
Hydrogen has become an ideal alternative energy source because of its tendency to produce lower unwanted emissions. Today, hydrogen fuel cell technology is being developed to power various vehicles like buses and industrial machinery.

Aerospace & Defense
Hydrogen gas is essential for rocket propulsion as well as powering and maintaining spacecrafts. It’s also becoming a popular alternative to fossil fuels used to support internal furnace combustion when manufacturing turbines and jet engines.

Primary Materials
Glass manufacturers rely on hydrogen to create a pristine furnace flame that produces less emissions, resulting in the production of cleaner and clearer glass.
