We're increasing emphasis on a new talent management program that strengthens our capabilities in the areas of talent acquisition and development, as well as diversity management. And our new district manager position provides a great opportunity—complete with profit and loss responsibilities—that appeals to the best industry recruits and Airgas associates looking to advance their careers.
Inspired Innovation
Airgas is a company filled with entrepreneurs. On the front lines, our branch managers and associates have the green light to fine-tune our core offering to meet unique customer demands. And throughout Airgas, teams are continually working on process innovations—from cylinder management systems to distribution efficiencies—that turn into best practices for our entire business. At Airgas, great ideas can—and do—come from anywhere and anyone.
Focus on Training
At Airgas, we invest in our associates, and nowhere is this more apparent than in our training programs. In fiscal 2014, associates completed more than 250,000 hours of training and development through Airgas University, with courses covering everything from safety and compliance to products and applications to customer service. In addition, there are new training programs for our district managers and we're developing on-boarding training programs for new sales, branch management and operations associates.
