Item Details

  • voestalpine Böhler Welding 316L/SKR Basic Stainless Steel Stick Electrode measuring 3/32" X 14" is ideally designed for all position welding of 1.4436/ASTM 316 /316L stainless steels to provide high productivity welding in flat and horizontal positions. All-round electrode with 460 N/sq.mm yield strength renders better ductility than AC/DC type electrodes particularly at lower temperatures. Welder-friendly with 590 N/sq.mm tensile strength renders magnificent resistance to general, pitting and intergranular corrosion in chloride containing environments. Cr-Ni-Mo electrode is intended to serve some circumstances such as in dilute hot acids. It comes in a 8 lb tube.

  • High productivity welding in flat and horizontal positions
  • Welder friendly, all round electrode
  • AVESTA 316L/SKR basic has a basic coating, which produces a weld metal that ensures safety against the formation of pores and cracks and possesses very good mechanical properties
  • The composition of the coating, characteristic of basic electrodes, gives very good penetration and position welding properties

  • AWS A5.4

  • For welding austenitic chromium nickel molybdenum steels of the ASTM 316 and 316L types
  • For welding niobium and titanium stabilized steels, such as ASTM 316Ti and 316Nb in cases where the welded component will be operating at temperatures not exceeding 752 deg F (400 deg C)
