ESAB® WEAR-ARC® 4 IP 1/8" Dia X 14" Iron Powder Low Hydrogen Hard Facing Electrode comes in a 10 lb hermetically sealed container and is designed to render sound overlays on carbon as well as low alloy steels and more abrasion resistant steels. Electrode provides resistance to metal to metal wear which has impact, compression and abrasion by rendering hard, deformation-resistant, crack free weld metal. It can be used to build up alloys with no underbead cracking and gives good fusion with steels due to low hydrogen coating. It finds applications in dragline bucket pins and links, dredge bucket lips, dredge driving tumblers, dredge spud points, can brake drums, mill brake drums, shovel idlers, cable sheaves, cable sheave shafts, elevator bucket lips, shovel rollers, shovel latch pins and keepers, tractor idlers, tractor rollers, wheels, ditcher drive segments, ditcher rollers and shovel boom heels.
Features
Iron powder, low hydrogen coating of WEAR-ARC® 4-IP electrodes provides excellent arc characteristics and high deposition rates
Slight weaving technique may be used
Deposit thickness should be limited to 3/8" (9.5 mm) maximum
Weld deposits are not machinable, but they can be cut with oxy-acetylene torch or by air carbon-arc cutting
