Item Details

RADNOR™ 309L is a gas-shielded, flux cored, stainless steel electrode with a nominal weld composition of 24% chromium, 13% nickel and a maximum carbon content of 0.04%. Carbide precipitation is minimized and the weld metal more resistant to intergranular corrosion due to the wire's low carbon content.

Features

Designed for welding in either the flat or horizontal position
Produces a finely rippled, equal legged, and well washed bead geometry using 75-82% Ar/balance CO2 shielding gas
Smooth arc transfer and self-releasing slag that peels freely to ensure that clean up time is minimized
Applications for this alloy type include welding dissimilar metal, such as type 304 SS to mild steel, cladding mild steel or type 304 base metals where corrosion requires to be enhanced, and welding of the stainless steel side of type 304 claddings.
