ESAB® Coreweld® 70 Gas Shielded Metal Core Carbon Steel Tubular Welding Wire of 0.045" Dia is a tubular wire having ingredients primarily comprised of metal powder along with additional arc stabilizers and alloying elements. The net result is a high efficiency wire that offers improved performance. It produces 40% less fume than the conventional metal-cored products. Weld metal transfer, arc characteristics, spatter levels are improved, while fume, spatter and silica islands are reduced with the use of argon mixtures up to 92% argon. General purpose wire suitable for flat and horizontal welding positions is designed for single or multipass welding in robotic applications where slag removal between passes is difficult. Wire is intended for use on carbon steels having tensile strengths up to 70 ksi. As a result of high level of iron powder and low slag components, the only slag formed by this wire is small islands of silica. This allows multiple pass welding without the requirement for de-slagging the weld deposit between passes, while increasing productivity. Wire is associated with E70C-6M class of wire and comes in a coil of 60 lb.
Features
The use of higher argon shielding gas further reduces fume, spatter and slag islands
Coreweld 70 is a tubular wire containing ingredients primarily comprised of metal powder along with additional arc stabilizers and alloying elements
Arc characteristics, weld metal transfer, spatter levels are improved, while silica islands are minimized with the use of Argon mixtures up to 92% Argon
Due to the high level of iron powder and low slag components, the only slag formed by this wire are small islands of silica
Coreweld 70 was designed for multipass welding in robotic applications where slag removal between passes is difficult
This metal cored product is intended for use on carbon steels having tensile strengths up to 70 psi (485 MPa)
Coreweld 70 wires from .045" up to 1/16" are capable of being welded out of position
This wire produces 40% less fume than the conventional metal cored products
