New Airgas Survey Uncovers Barriers to Skilled Trades Recruitment
For years, the narrative around the skilled labor shortage has been that young people simply aren't interested in the trades. Airgas has released new research, based on comprehensive surveys of nearly 100 students and 90 educators, which challenges these assumptions and reveals new insights.
Airgas uncovered that 76% of skilled trades students are interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades. Yet, there's a disconnect: 72% of those same students feel they lack the basic information needed to start. They are past asking "why" and are instead asking "how."
