Propylene is used as an alternative fuel to acetylene in oxy-fuel welding and cutting, brazing and heating of metal for bending. It’s also used to make polypropylene and other plastics.

Propylene mixed with glycol is used as a solvent in the plastics industry. It is also a raw material in the production of many chemicals. And it can be used in paints and coatings to provide weather and wear protection.
