The EV380S28 is an internal motor carbon brush holder designed as an electrical commutation component for 15-Amp (120V / 220-240V) series-wound universal motors engineered by Evolution Power Tools. It functions as the structural and electrical channel that guides, positions, and delivers mechanical contact pressure for the motor's carbon brushes against the spinning copper commutator of the armature.
Features
Precision Geometry-Lock: Tight internal tolerances of the brass sleeve prevent brush tilt, ensuring the carbon brush face strikes the cylindrical commutator at a perpendicular 90° angle to eliminate uneven brush wear and maximize energy transfer efficiency.
Optimized Thermal Dissipation: Brass housing acts as a heat sink to prevent internal brush springs from overheating, guarding against spring annealing.
High Vibration Mitigation: Reinforced mounting tabs damp high-frequency harmonics generated during heavy scale penetration or metal cutting to ensure a stable arc path.
Quick-Access Field Maintenance: Features external tool indexing allowing maintenance crews to back out threaded brush retaining caps to inspect or replace worn brushes in under 3 minutes.
Dual-Material Matrix: Combines a high-purity H62 brass alloy inner guide cage with an injection-molded thermoset polymer outer structural body to withstand physical vibration, thermal expansion, and electromagnetic interference.
