Item Details

  • Hobart® 718MC Low Hydrogen Electrode is a moisture-resistant that eliminates the worry of moisture pick-up with hydrogen cracking and is specially designed to produce good welding operator appeal in low temperature environments compared to other electrodes of same class by featuring good out-of-position welding capabilities and X-ray quality weld deposit. 5/32" Electrode is formulated to provide stable arc with good weld bead appearance and is ideal for single and multiple pass, DCEP, AC that can be employed in various applications such as barge offshore rigs, shipbuilding, field erection, steel structures, petrochemical plants and power plants. Easily governable electrode meets the specifications of AWS E7018-H4R/E7018-1 H4R with military specification of Mil-E-22200/10 and has a tensile strength of 77700 psi, yield strength of 62100 psi that tenders better welds with no porosity to increase bead contour. Reliable electrode produces starts, restarts along with good wetting action and comes with slag design that makes cleaning, removal easier that in turn eliminates the need of going back to oven for fresh electrode. Electrode is applied in railcar, locomotive construction, welding of enameling steels, free machining steels, low alloy structural with low, medium or high carbon steels as well as boiler code applications by keeping minimum spatter in all positions. Electrode is sold as a 50 lb hermetically sealed container.
