- ESAB® WEAR-ARC® 6 IP 5/32" Dia X 14" Iron Powder Low Hydrogen Hard Facing Electrode comes in a 10 lb hermetically sealed container and is ideally designed for field works where downhand welding parts cannot be positioned. Electrode adheres well with manganese as well as carbon steels and is recommended for the reclamation of parts which is subjected to wear due to abrasion and light impact. It finds applications in shovel buckets and teeth, dragline buckets and teeth, pug mill paddles, tamping tools, screens, asphalt mixer paddles, crushing equipment, granulators, trunnions and truck bodies.
Features
- Iron powder, low hydrogen coating of WEAR-ARC® 6-IP electrodes provides excellent arc characteristics and high deposition rates in all positions using AC or DC, either polarity
- Weaving technique is recommended
- Deposit thickness should be limited to two passes or 1/4" (6.4 mm) maximum
- Weld deposits are not machinable, are smooth, requiring a minimum amount of grinding to bring them to shape
- Weld deposits cannot be cut with oxy-acetylene torch or by air carbon-arc cutting
