WEARSHIELD® BU stick electrode is ideal for build-up of carbon or low alloy steels for parts that will be machined/forged or before application of a hardfacing product. Typical applications include build-up of shovel/bucket lips, pump impellers/housings, pulverize plows and mill hammers OR hardfacing of trunnions, tractor rolls, cranes and gears. IT can be welded in flat and horizontal positions with unlimited layers (given proper preheat, interpass temperatures and procedures).
