Stoody® CTS 1/4" Dia x 18" Hard Facing Electrode comes in a 60 lb carton and is an excellent choice for hard facing on cast iron. Electrode is ideal for crushing applications, pug mill paddles, sintering mill breakers/bars, cement mill die rings and railroad tie tamper tips. Shielded metal arc welding electrode with high manganese content produces deposits that resist impact and abrasion. It can be applied to carbon, low alloy and austenitic manganese steel. Electrode works on AC or DC using stringer or weave beads. Deposits are not machinable or forgeable and should be set to 2 layers. It can be used in hot wear applications up to 900 F.
