- Hobart® Pipemaster® 80 E8010-PR Low Alloy Steel Electrode with 5/32" Dia uses DCEP (Direct Current Electrode Positive) type current and is recommended for use in welding of high-yield pipe steels, drill platforms, storage tanks, shipbuilding and pipe welding using downhill travel. Quit to start, it provides you with excellent wash-in and produces a strong, dependable, X-ray quality weld with a light slag that is easy to remove. It is ideal for the single- or multi-pass, vertical-down welding of X56-X70 pipe. An excellent all-position, cellulosic mild steel electrode delivers arc stability and drives you with the perfect penetration possible. Its low-temperature impact properties make it a great choice for welding pipe steels with silicon contents of up to 0.30. Light slag helps in quick and easy cleaning of weld bead. It welds in all places like flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions. Recommended to store in dry place at room temperature. Electrode comes in a hermetically sealed container weighing 50 lb.
