The Hobart Aluminum Drum Trac has been specially designed to help remedy recurring wire tangling, particularly with soft wires (1XXX and 4XXX), by addressing the inherent twist that occurs when putting the wire in the drum. In most cases the drum setup and wire feeding system can be optimized to eliminate wire tangling and particularly, the ‘wire corkscrew’ phenomenon. the Drum Trac should only be implemented in situations with unoptimized feeding systems where the root cause of wire corkscrew cannot be addressed.
